Not long ago Angela Jackson received some devastating news...she learned she had breast cancer.

"Worst day of my life, you can't breathe, you cry -- all I worried about was my kids, my family and you don't really worry about yourself," said Jackson.

Once diagnosed -- Jackson received a call from st. Luke's breast care coordinator services.

"We sit down with them and essentially go over their pathology report with them in detail, talk with them about likely physician visits that they will be having within the next week or two, their likely surgical options and basically what life will be like for them over the next couple of months," said Julie Thompson, St. Luke's Breast Cancer Coordinator.

For Jackson this free service has been vital to her treatment and recovery.

"When you get this it's overwhelming and there are so many appointments she walked me through a lot of it telling me what the next step would be," said Jackson.

"I feel like this is a very important service to have for patients. I believe by sitting down and giving them this education we are giving them the tools they need to make wise decisions about their treatment," said Thompson.
